Things to know before you go to Chichen-Itza

Chichen-Itza& a legendary ancient Maya city, built for the Mayas to revere and pray to the gods, this magnificent building of stones, is one of the most beautiful structures all over the world. Here are some things you should know before you get there.

-Time your trip ahead of time.

Going early to this amazing place is very important, remember this place is visited by millions every day, sometimes its too crowded, there is not enough time to go to all pyramids, I suggest you go as early as possible, so you can enjoy and take beautiful pictures, wich its a little difficult once the place is full. Other option it's going 3:00 pm, when the sun its a little bit more low a less crowded. the tour is going to last proximally 2 or 3 hours.

-Book transportation to the Maya City.

An easy way to get there is by booking Transportation early on, you not only be so comfortable all the way there, you do not have to worry about buying a ticket in a terminal and taking a bus, which is not the fastest way to get there, you also can return to your hotel safe.

-Sunscreen and Water are your allies.

The Yucatan state is well known for the high temperatures that rise to 45 degrees even more, so if youre going this summer, remember you will be climbing and walking to appreciate all the place,  you will want to see it all, and these places are not in the shade. I recommend highly that you buy water and keep hydrated all day and use sunscreen, especially people that are more skin sensible, take a hat, even an umbrella, make sure you are not to expose to the sun in there, it gets very hot, you may think that is not, oh but it is&

-Dress to less stress

Talking about taking precautions, this is one of those things, go as comfortable as you can, if you are coming here its very highly that you will expend most of the day outside, get some shorts, some sandals, I cannot express how hot it can get. There are uneven pathways, and they arent paved, and youll have to keep an eye out for errant rocks and sticks.

-Its way more than a pyramid

One thing most travelers dont realize is how huge Chichén Itzá really is. Sure, you could simply take a selfie in front of El Castillo and call it a day, but then youd be missing really amazing things, like the enormous Great Ballcourt where Mayan sportsmen used to compete in a complex ball game or the intricate Temple of the Warriors or The Observatory. The list goes on. Ensure you give yourself enough time to properly explore the complex, you dont know what you may find.
